Privacy & Cookies

• Account details. When you create an account, sign-in is handled by our identity provider (Clerk). We store your email address, name, role, and subscription status to operate your account. We never see or store your password.
• Listing data. Parts you publish — including the manufacturer, part number, description, quantity, price, and the contact email and phone number you choose to display — are stored so buyers can find and contact you.
• Payment data. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe directly; we do not store them.
• Usage and advertising data. If you consent, we collect aggregate information about how the site is used and, if you arrived from one of our Google ads, whether your visit led to a subscription (see below).

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects aggregate usage data such as pages viewed and approximate location.

We also use Google Ads conversion measurement to see whether visits that begin with one of our ads lead to a subscription, so we can gauge and improve our advertising. When you complete a purchase, we send Google the plan price, currency, and a one-time identifier for that checkout — never your card details, name, or listing contents. These advertising cookies may also be used by Google to measure and personalize the ads we show.

Both are governed by Google Consent Mode: until you accept, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and no usage or conversion data is collected. When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept or Decline; your single choice applies to both. It is remembered in your browser so you are only asked once. To change it, clear your browser's site data for Surplus Inventory and the banner will appear again.

We also use a Cloudflare Turnstile check on listing pages to keep scrapers and spammers from harvesting sellers' contact details. This is a security measure, not advertising tracking.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make the site work — our identity provider (Clerk), payment processor (Stripe), email provider (Resend), analytics and advertising provider (Google), bot protection (Cloudflare), and our hosting and database infrastructure. Contact details on a listing are shown publicly by design, after a bot check, so buyers can reach you.
